John General

John General is Vice President for Corporate Development of Synergia. In addition, he is responsible for the East Coast operations of the company. He is also Executive Director of the Chesapeake Bay Region Technical Center of Excellence (CBRTCE), a 501(c)(3) corporation focused on incubating technology based companies on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. From 1998 to 2001 he was President of Avalon Consulting specializing in strategic planning for small technical firms. From 1996 –1998 he was Executive Vice President of ST Research where he was responsible for business development, strategic planning and operations. In 1984, he founded Delfin Systems, an industry leader in information and communication exploitations technologies applied to the intelligence, defense and commercial marketplaces. From 1984 – 1996 he was variously CEO, President, Chairman and Executive Vice President of the Company.

His accomplishments at Delfin included four rounds of venture financing, a strategic partnership with the Penn Central Corporation, two acquisitions, and a reputation for excellence with all customers. Delfin was aquired in 1999. Prior to Delfin, Mr. General held management positions at TRW, Ketron and Stanford Research Institute.

He was on active duty with the Navy from 1965 – 1976 as a Naval Aviator and Staff Operations Analyst. He remained in the Naval Reserves until 1994, retiring as a Captain. In the Reserve he worked primarily with the Navy Inspector General. Mr General is also a member of Next Generation Fund LLC, a venture capital firm in Northern Virginia, specializing in technology investments.

He is a founder and corporate secretary of the Avalon Foundation. Which manages a restored Art-Deco performing arts center and the President of MCTV, a public access television station.

Mr General attended Columbia University and holds a BS degree in Engineering with distinction from the Naval Academy. He also has a MS in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School.
